Imgur provides you with a Video to GIF page. The site also makes it very easy to convert an Imgur video to GIF format. Mostly used for finding and sharing memes, Imgur lets you create and post original GIFs or videos as well. The video dimensions seem to be locked at 720x404, so that's what the forum will display for now. Imgur is a image-and-video sharing social network. Right now, there's no native way to disable preloading of a video hosted on Imgur (although I'm looking to see if I can fix that), so please mark your threads with *VID* tags (or the like). You’ll also have the option to share a URL of the video link. Here's the important part: There is no actual file format for GIFV, it's just an HTML5 document with tags. When you’re ready, click the green Export button, select GIF as your export file type, and download your new GIF. What Imgur has done-and I think this was a very poor, marketing-based decision on their part-is to mask the MP4/WebM videos behind a ".gifv" filename. This is because animated GIFs were never intended to be videos. The problem with animated GIFs, however, is that, in addition to terrible image quality, the files are simply MASSIVE. Amongst many others, we support PNG, JPG, GIF, WEBP and HEIC. The benefit for GIF is that you don't need any special tags for it to work a plain 'ol tag will display the GIF in any old browser just fine. CloudConvert converts your image files online. Given that MP4s are roughly 10 times smaller than GIFs, animation will now render at lightning speeds. Nowadays, however, is very reliable (YouTube has changed to this by default rather than the old Flash player method). Entitled Project GIFV, Imgur will now automatically convert all of its GIFs into MP4 files. Normally, you'd always want to use a native element, but browser support for was pretty limited/inconsistent until somewhat recently. The MP4/WebM files are just regular video formats used in HTML5 tags. When you upload a video file to Imgur, they convert it into a few different formats: Imgur says the tool is compatible with more. Then choose a folder to save your GIF and click RUN. You can extract desired frames by dragging the green knob as well. Double click GIF icon to set loop time, image size, duration and frame delay. Imgur (who introduced GIFV), has chosen terrible and erroneous terminology for what is essentially a default, native HTML5 video player. You just enter a video URL, select the portion of the video that you want to convert, add some text, and voila, you’ve got a GIF a few seconds later. Click Toolbox on the bottom toolbar, and select GIF. I've ranted about GIFV before, so I'll try to keep this short. Will there be thumbnail options like with the still images? Some GIFs are enormous in dimensions too, not just filesize.

Old, woody and hard cuttings are more difficult to propagate. It’s best to take cuttings in late spring or early summer when the branches are new and green. Take a maple tree cutting from the tree, about 25cm in length, and remove all leaves except for those at the very top. The maple tree can be propagated from a stem cutting to grow a new tree. To help you with this task, see our product review and buying guide on the best garden loppers and electric pole saws for 2024. Stems on low hanging branches can be removed at any time of year. Make cuts just beyond a leaf or leaf bud on the stem. Depending on the size of a branch, use hand pruners or a tree saw to remove branches. Before removing a branch, first check where it goes. Simply remove lower branches growing from the trunk to your chosen height. If you’re going the light pruning route, this is best with younger trees, before their branches grow too large. Light pruning is for shaping purposes and heavier pruning improves branch structure. There are a few reasons to prune a maple tree. Just be sure to make your cut beyond the dead part. Damaged or dead branches or stems can be removed when you see them. The sap loss doesn’t harm older, established trees but can damage young ones.Īny major pruning is best during summer, once all the leaf buds have already opened. Maple trees can be pruned in late winter or early spring, but this can cause excessive bleeding. With young trees though, it can help to create a denser and more attractive tree with better shade. A maple tree can actually grow absolutely fine without ever being pruned. Maple trees tend to bleed or lose a lot of sap when cut, which often scares people when it comes to pruning. Once your maple tree is well-established in about two years, it won’t need as much care in terms of soil moisture and watering. If the soil is moist you can wait to water it. If you notice the leaves of your maple tree are browning on the tips or starting to wilt, this can mean that your soil is either too dry or too wet.īefore watering, check the soil moisture using your finger. Deep soaking less often is much better than splashing just a little water on the tree every day.ĭeep watering promotes deep root growth and can reduce water loss by evaporation. If there isn’t sufficient rainfall, water when needed to keep the root ball and surrounding soil damp to moist. This usually causes soggy soil that can lead to root rot on some maple varieties. In average garden soil, you shouldn’t have to water your tree every day. Once you’ve planted a new maple tree in the ground, especially during the summer months, you can be tempted to water every day in order to grow roots. A good time to fertilise is in early spring after new leaves have just started to show. Younger trees will benefit from fertilisation to help them establish a good root system. They have an expansive root system which can access nutrients through the soil and from rainfall. Older and well-established maple trees don’t usually need fertilising. Avoid the use of raw manure around your maple tree. If you maintain good soil health this will be key to growing big and strong maple trees. You want to avoid dry, sandy or rocky soil. The ability to identify and produce rhyme is an important skill for learning to read. It has gorgeous scenery and rich colours, while the animals and marine life are captured in all their glory. Visually, "Seasonal Seas" is a wonder, same with all the series' episodes and Attenborough's work in general. It was really interesting to see how the seas and the marine life adapted and were affected by the four seasons, handled in a way that was ceaselessly fascinating and left the viewer in awe visually. "Seasonal Seas", and the subsequent episodes, confirms my feeling that 'The Blue Planet' was consistently great and more and there was not a bad episode of the eight. To me, the series overall is wholly deserving of its acclaim and the individual episodes are rated far too low. As said in my reviews for the individual episodes of 'Frozen Planet', it is a shame that despite being one of IMDb's highest rated shows, the ratings here for each episode individually has such a wide divide between them and that for the show overall. It is also one of his most ground-breaking, in that it's the first comprehensive series of oceanic natural history and including and exploring creatures and their behaviour that had never been seen before. It leaves me in complete and utter awe every time, with how much is learnt about all the different seas and marine inhabitants and how it all looks visually. 'The Blue Planet' is one of my favourites of his. He has done so many treasures and even his lesser output of a long and consistently impressive career is still good. Overall, 'The Blue Planet' delights again.David Attenborough, as has been said many times, is wholly deserving of being called a national treasure, although it is a term he happens to not like. One roots for the animals, whether prey or predator. Instead, it feels like its own individual story with real, complex emotions and conflicts. It's not just the coral reef formations (where the visuals are particularly striking) that fascinate, the way of coral reproductions and the breeding strategies did too. He delivers it with his usual richness, soft-spoken enthusiasm and sincerity, never talking down to the viewer and keeping them riveted and wanting to know more. Attenborough's narration helps quite significantly too, he clearly knows his stuff and knows what to say and how to say it. There are things already known to me, still delivered with a lot of freshness, but there was a lot that was quite an education and after watching the full series it honestly felt like the series taught me a lot. Can't fault the narrative aspects in "Coral Seas" either. Some of my favourite work from him in fact, coming from someone who's liked a lot of what he's done. It not only complements the visuals but enhances them to a greater level. George Fenton's music score soars majestically, rousing the spirits while touching the soul. Standing out even more is the photography, never before or since 'The Blue Planet' has there been more stunning underwater sequences. Visually, "Coral Seas" is a wonder, same with all the series' episodes and Attenborough's work in general. It was really interesting to see how the coral reefs formed, how the marine life adapted and the struggles. "Coral Seas", and the subsequent episodes, confirms my feeling that 'The Blue Planet' was consistently great and more and there was not a bad episode of the eight. David Attenborough, as has been said many times, is wholly deserving of being called a national treasure, although it is a term he happens to not like. The fusion of style and elegance is present in the alphabet by Pas1. Not too crazy but far from simple, this alphabet is well balanced. The letter form looks tough enough to withstand nuclear fallout. Peza came through with a classic solid graff style, somewhere between straight letters and wildstyle. However, it still somehow maintains a graff allure to it even though it’s so removed. Tastefully executed, this is something you’d find in a fancy design book rather than a black book. Not sure if this can even be considered as a graffiti style at this point but one thing I am sure of is that it’s really awesome. The type of letters that got a lot of people into graffiti back in the day. When you look at Eazy’s alphabet, it’s like taking a time travel machine back to the mid-90s, during the golden era of street graffiti. Well executed and beautifully presented, this Derones alphabet deserves a frame and a spot on the wall. Slick, well-balanced, readable but sometimes undefined. If the late 90’s, early 2000’s London style is your jam, Derones delivers the goods but with an extra component. It’s organic, it’s dangerous, it’s real and it’s unmistakably, KILLA EF! Just look at how it all comes together ever so perfectly, while being ever so wild. This murderous style is a result of years of blood sweat and tears, and hardbody beers. This isn’t something that just came to be overnight. Zurik did just that and also finished off with his own name on the letter Z. At first glance, the classic graffiti-type straight letters seem similar but when you take a minute to break it down, each person has their clever ways of flipping the script. It’s the subtle little differences that separate straight-letter styles from each other. This is extremely diverse and creative, without even losing the actual letter forms of the alphabet. Not sure which version I like best, the black and white or the digitally colored one but holy crap, the amount of style and detail is very impressive. They are in battle mode, in a Kung-Fu stance anticipating the hit from any angle but also ready to attack with cunning precision if provoked. It’s very aggressive but not brute, but rather with much finesse to it. This is what it’s all about and he nailed it.Įach letter in this alphabet is ready to strike. You don’t need to go all out to produce something very flavorful and Drain really hit that note with this alphabet. Some of the best things in the world are the most simple. Big bald letters that even your grandmother’s legally blind friend could read. Each letter represents a different bombing style which is all trapped in a common mind. You can tell Jamey had fun doing this one with his bubble gum pop style. Never losing form, the letters look good even when stripped naked. Either way, each letter looks perfectly balanced no matter how wild it gets. Maybe not steroids, maybe like lots of exercise and cold-pressed organic juices. Each one has its own universe with a personal color scheme and a plethora of details, yet when put together everything comes together and it’s undeniably all from the same artist. Other than the fact that it took 288 priority mail stickers to pull this off, this one by Syhis is simply crazy. The type of alphabet you can stare at for hours. The amount of detail from the borders of the frame to the triple fonts on top of the wildstyle is mind-blowing. Izer, taking wildstyle to a whole new level of detail and intricacy. I like how he highlighted the letters of his name and crews. Simple, clean and straight to the point, this alphabet is well-consistent with a steady flow. You can’t go wrong with a classic East coast straight-letter steez which Ceafpulled it off nice and neat. This is truly a beautiful, sentimental alphabet that was very well put together from A to Z. Besides the super clean execution, Atoms decorated it with ladybugs, bees and monarchs for good luck as a dedication to Diva’s fight with cancer.
